Miriam Lacy, Director of Women's Ministries

Miriam LacyMiriam Lacy was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She immigrated to the United States in 1965, growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area as the only child of Dr. and Mrs. Gabriel Otero. Being so far away from extended family, the idea of having a friend for life seemed wonderful. So at the age of seven, "I asked Jesus Christ to be my friend, the Lord of my life, and the Savior of my sins." Believing God's plan for her was to become a physician, she acquired a BS in Zoology, with an emphasis in microbiology, from the University of California, Davis.

In 1979, while on a mission's trip to Mexico, she met Daniel. Shortly after, he was enrolled at Western Conservative Baptist Seminary and she was working for the VA Hospital and Oregon Health Science University in Portland, Oregon. They were married in 1984 and are parents of three beloved daughters.

In 1993, they began attending Lake Bible with both actively involved in ministry. Miriam began to pray that God would use her in Women's Ministries and in 1998, the call came. She served as assistant director before stepping into her current role as Director. Miriam's passion is helping women to grow in Christ along with encouraging them to serve and share Him with others.
