The Stewardship of Light: Handle It Carefully
Word from the Pastor: Here’s a law of the Christian life: either we keep moving or we start molding.
Text: Luke 8:16-21
- What do we mean when we call God’s light a ‘stewardship’?
- As lamps, what are ways we faithfully reflect the light of Christ?
- Why does Jesus say it is so important to listen up to God’s word? What do we stand to gain and what to we stand to lose if we don’t. (v. 18)
- Examining your own life, can you think of any evidence that reassures you that you have not become stagnant and complacent in your walk with Christ?
- Based on this morning’s message, what does our Word from the Pastor (in today’s bulletin) mean?
- “By grace we are saved through faith (alone) in Christ (alone).” On Monday morning, so to speak, what shape does a true and living faith take? I.e. how does it regularly manifest itself in the life of a genuine believer? (v. 20-21)
