Who is My Neighbor?
Text: Luke 10:25-37
- Look at the question in 10:25. Embedded in it is a false assumption that is shared by many in every age, including ours. What is it? How does the story of the Good Samaritan help to explode that assumption?
- From the summary of the Ten Commandments in verse 27, what important, but little recognized, fact do we learn about the nature of God’s law
- Romans 3:20 makes it abundantly clear that no one will be justified or declared righteous in God’s sight by dutiful performance of the demands of God’s law. So, why would Jesus tell this religious lawyer that if he fulfilled the demands of the law he would inherit eternal life? (verse 28) Explain.
- We call this narrative the story of the Good Samaritan. Actually, that traditional title is off base? Why? (Matthew 19:16-17)
