  1. In verse 7, as in chapter 1 and several times (e.g. verse 20) in this passage, the Lord in one way or another reiterates that He is coming soon. Yet here it is 2,000 years later and He has not yet returned. Since He was not mistaken and is no liar, how do we explain this language?
  2. In verse 9, the angel before whom John prostrates himself, gently reproves the apostle. Why? And what lesson is embedded in that reproof for the Church? Is there any temptation in modern life to err (in principle) as did John? Explain.
  3. On the surface verse 11 sounds fatalistic. Explain what John really means.
  4. Verses 18-19 could sound as though any misinterpretation of Revelation brings a curse. Explain what it really means.
