The Grace and Power of Christ to Straighten Up Lives Bowed and Burdened under the loads of Guilt and Sin
Text: Luke 13:10-17- In biblical narratives some statements are made that seem insignificant and merely incidental to the main action, but implicitly they may comfort or confront us, exhort us or rebuke us by example. Verses 13:10-11 illustrate that. In the case of Jesus during His earthly ministry and in the case of this afflicted woman, what was the ‘take away’ mentioned this morning?
- What things do we learn about the Lord Jesus in this healing scenario that we should store up in our hearts for future reference?
- In her physical plight, what is this woman symbolic of in spiritual terms?
- What do we learn (in timeless principle) from the backlash against Jesus for this Sabbath healing on the part of the synagogue leader and some other hostile elements present there?
- Similarly, what can we ‘take away’ from Jesus’ invincible rebuttal of their hypocritical protest against this Sabbath healing?
