Coronavirus Status

July 1, 2020

Dear Lake Family,

Thank you for your patience as we get ready to open for in person services. Your COVID committee has been working diligently to open in as safe a manner as possible and continues to follow the guidelines set by the state.

The opening date is to be determined by the opening of Phase 2 as Clackamas county reopens. The Elders have determined that the earliest that we can open will be July 26th. That is only an assumption at this point. If the county does not go into Phase 2 by July 10th, that opening could be delayed. Stay tuned for the official confirmed date but hopefully July 26 is going to work.

The Elders have formed a Covid-19 committee to help put together a plan, so we are able to help reopen the church in a safe and healthy manner. The committee is meeting regularly and will be in communication with you as plans unfold and we get closer to the time the church is able to reopen.

As I am sure you are all aware, there will be significant aspects to attending services that are going to change. Despite that, we know that our goal as believers is not to be sure everything is like it used to be but to be together worshiping as a body as we are called to do in Hebrews 10:24,25. Everything listed below will be what we know it is going to be like on that first Sunday back. Things that have already been decided:

  • We will have only 1 service likely starting at 9 AM
  • Masks will be required
  • Meeting will occur in the gym with the Great Room utilized for overflow or those families that want to bring kids but aren’t comfortable in the main service
  • There will be one entrance and one exit
  • Strict physical distancing will occur during seating though you will be able to sit with your family as a group
  • Reservations will be made via the website once we get closer to an opening date
  • There will not be Sunday School classes
  • There will not be childcare for any age
  • Online streaming will continue to be available
  • Offering will not be passed but there will provisions for dropping off your offering
  • A cleaning and disinfecting protocol has been approved that is aggressive and maintains safety while not being intrusive.
  • Details on all these and other criteria will be forthcoming but we wanted you to know that we continue to work on how best to get us all back together for our spiritual health and glorification of Christ as we maintain the ability to guard our physical health as well.

The Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make his face shine upon you; The Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.Numbers 6:24-26

    In Christ,

The Elder Board and Covid-19 Committee
