Adult Cross Training Classes on Sunday Morning
Building the Body of Christ
To see the people of Lake Bible Church theologically trained in a thorough program
that grows them in Christ and equips them for the work of ministry (member care, evangelism, etc.).
First Service (9 AM) Classes
Cornerstones (specialty track)
Each Cornerstones class is a walk through a passage of Scripture with the goal of understanding what is being said and why we should care. The class is taught in a lecture format, but questions and discussion are encouraged knowing that we often learn best when study is a group effort. The current study is focusing on the book of 1 Peter.
Because the class is not tightly structured, questions are welcome and not considered a distraction. Led by Walter Brockhaus, the teaching style is less formal and more, as Walter puts it, an expression of “someone who loves God’s Word and tries my best to understand the relevance of it for my life, and thereby the relevance for the people in the class.”
Cornerstones meets in room 144 during the 9 am service. The class is open to all adults and can be joined at any point throughout the year.
Foundations (currently on track 3)
The Foundations is roughly equal parts lecture and discussion. Differing viewpoints and challenging questions are respected and genuinely discussed in the spirit of unity while at the same time an orthodox and evangelical perspective is clearly presented to anchor the direction of the teaching.
Visit the Foundations class page
to learn more and obtain current study information and materials. Currently on track 3 of the Cross Training curriculum, they are currently studying Evangelism.
Foundations meets in room 152 during the 9 am service. The class is open to all adults and can be joined at any point throughout the year.
Agape (currently on track 1)
The Agape class meets in the Marriage Ministry room (room 232) during the 9 am service and welcomes all to attend to study the Word together. Led by Mike and Laurie Sheffield who are both winsome, wise and personable, the Agape class features lively discussion, great food, and the instruction of the Word.
Currently on track 1 of the Cross Training curriculum, the Agape class is currently studying Old Testament 1 which is a survey of the first half of the Old Testament.
Second Service (10:45 AM) Classes
