The Secret of a God-Blessed Life
Word from the Pastor: Faith in and obedience to God go together like root and fruit. The former does not exist without the latter.
Text: 1 Samuel 1.1-6
- The theme of 1 Samuel, as articulated by the pastor this morning, is one of the major themes of the Scriptures in general. What is it? See 1 Samuel 2:20
- Practice a little self examination: We do some things by habit or reflex, others we do by fore thought or intention. What can you think of that you have done intentionally this past week just because it honors God? Can you honestly say that your life is devoted to that goal?
- Elkanah has plural wives. What can we say about this domestic arrangement? How do we know it wasn’t the original blueprint?
- Do you see any spiritual lesson in the rivalry of the two wives of Elkanah?
