  1. In the arraignment of Jesus before Pontius Pilate and the accusations His enemies flung at Him, what timeless truth can we extract from the narrative about Satan’s tactics?
  2. In the jostling between Pilate, the Roman governor, and the leaders of the Jews, Luke goes out of his way to include in his record a testimony from the governor and Herod that confirms the innocence of Jesus. Why was that relevant going forward, since that testimony did not spare Jesus from execution?
  3. Up to a point, Pilate tried to pacify the blood lust of the native establishment, but with no success. Why does history look upon the Roman governor as such a villain? Is this fair?
  4. How are those today (or any day) who know and reject the gospel message of Jesus Christ just as accountable for their stance as were the Jews and Romans on the ground at the crucifixion of Jesus?
