  1. When Jesus equates adultery and lust in the spirit of divine law, what is the big idea that He is trying to get across to us, His disciples?
  2. Verses 29-30 are initially jarring. This is an example of hyperbole (deliberate exaggeration for effect). What does Jesus mean to teach us, His disciples, by means of this device?
  3. Suggest some ways we can mitigate the intrusion of lust into our minds?
  4. In our sinful condition it is not possible to totally prevent birds from flying over our redeemed heads. However, when we find doo-doo in our hearts and a bird’s nest in our hair, what should we do to keep a good conscience before the Lord?
